im a model and im wondering should i sell my calender?
im an aspiring model and im just getting started i have the looks i have very sexy exotic features and what it takes to be a hot model my profession is in lingerie and swimsuit im looking to be more of urban model…so right now im working on a lingerie calendar for 2010 and my hopes with this calendar is to make some money and also get my face out there but im wondering if its a good idea or for some suggestions so please be kind enough to give me some positive opinions thanks
Seeing as you only want “positive” opinions you are not going to like this one much.
You have little or no chance of making any money with your own calendar.
There are a number of reasons for this.
1. unless you are taking the photographs yourself then you will not have copyright of the photographs. You will therefore have to pay for a photographer to a. take the shots and b. you will have to purchase usage rights to all the shots. This will be quite expensive.
2. printing costs for high quality calendars will be quite high
3. distribution. Have you got any outlets in mind. To sell enough copies to make money you will need to have a distribution network in place. This will take time and money to set up.
4. there are many “established” models and celebrity calendars on the market and often they are left on the shelves anyway.
Bottom line. you will not make money out of a “lingerie and swimsuit” calendar of an unknown model.
